Dr Richard Ellis

Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics
Richard Ellis is an endodontist based in Auckland, New Zealand, with a career spanning over three decades. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 1988 from Otago University and subsequently completed his endodontic training at the University of Maryland in 1994.

Richard was certified by examination as a Diplomate of The American Board of Endodontics in 2000.
​​
His commitment to patient care and excellence in endodontics has established him as a trusted specialist in the Auckland and Northland community.

Dr Ray Sun
BDS, DClinDent
Ray Sun joined North Shore Endodontics in 2025 having recently moved to Auckland from Timaru.
Ray earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2019 from the University of Otago and worked as a general dentist in both the private and public sectors, developing an interest in endodontics and preventative dentistry.
Ray has since completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Endodontics) from the University of Otago in 2024.

In addition to his expertise in root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, and trauma management, Dr Sun is fluent in both English and Mandarin. This allows him to support patients who are more comfortable communicating in Mandarin, ensuring they fully understand their treatment options and feel at ease during their care.
